Sorry Brandon… I skipped all of the flashbacks and didn’t feel remotely guilty because this book should be half the size!

A street urchin chica with untapped immense powers, what's there not to love? And in general, I really really did like this series but as mentioned in my title I really could not deal with the flashbacks. I found them painful, agonising and in the end I just gave them up completely.

Ssssss SnakeMEDITERRANEAN FLORA, FAUNA & FUN

Ssssss

As a witch, I attract ceratin types of animals, so whenever I walk through the countryside I'm always coming across bats and rats and spiders and Black Cats. However, today I had the most extraordinary encounter in the area behind the city known as 'Bosques (forest) of Tarragona.' I was walking down one of those stonewalled paths so common to the province, when a flipping enormous snake crossed my path. It didn't stop to stare, it didn't stop to chat, it didn't stop to attack me, it just slithered right across the path and into some bushes opposite. Now like most people who spend time in the countryside I know there are snakes around but they are tiny. I mean they are like Fisher price snakes, not Hollywood anacondas. Which was why this snake was so unexpected. Naturally I whipped out my phone and did a bit of research. The chatbot told me The Montpellier snake is one of the largest snakes in Europe, regularly reaching 1.8–2 metres in length, which is why encountering one feels so confrontational. It’s fast, muscular, and faintly green or olive, blending perfectly with Mediterranean scrub. It feeds on lizards, small mammals, birds, and other snakes, and unlike many European species it doesn’t immediately flee — it often holds its ground, lifting the front of its body slightly as if assessing you. It’s rear-fanged and mildly venomous, but harmless to humans; what’s remarkable isn’t danger but confidence. Named after Montpellier, it’s a heat-loving, ancient-looking animal that moves like it belongs utterly to the land — which, unnervingly, it does. As you may or may not know, I love snakes sp this is one of the most special moments I've ever had on one of my walks. And in terms of the info, I found it fascinating that they eat snakes... ...whoever knew that it was a snake eat snake world.

And the blood? 810vHhAXPpL. AC SL1500BOOKS

And the blood?

As this book had two things I'm into - blood and witches - I fancied I was up for one hell of a read. Unfortunately, I was soon deflated as it turned out it was set in a kind of Victorian world (yes I know normally that would appeal to me, but not in the fantasy genre) and was basically just a supergirly love story. Occasionally, it had some redeeming qualities but was pretty tough to get through. (Appended note in late 2025. Despite my lukewarm review, I ended up buying the second book (🤔 why I really don't know) when it came out, and it had all the bad qualities of book one without any of its redeeming ones. Don't be seduced by the reviews - the crimson moth books are mediocre at best.)

But seriously, do you actually know what a computer is? 71J5 +LlDTL. AC SL1500BOOKS

But seriously, do you actually know what a computer is?

Every day, every hour  (hell, for some people, every minute) we’re using this thing called a computer, whether it’s a desktop or something in our pocket. But do you actually know what a computer is? Not what it does — what it is. I realised I didn’t. So I did a bit of reading. What I discovered is that a computer is, at heart, a mathematical simulation machine. And because mathematics itself is a simulation of certain aspects of reality, the computer becomes in a very real sense — a reality simulation machine. Now, I fully appreciate that this is a wildly deficient explanation of what a computer actually is; but fortunately for me, I’ve already locked myself into fleeting style book reviews, so I don’t have to expand any further 😂.

Oral: Why sometimes I need you to be a Chihuahua not a retriever Ezgif 28b1b2be8eff8e53INSTRUCTION

Oral: Why sometimes I need you to be a Chihuahua not a retriever

Sorry, this isn't what I want to talk about but just the whole concept of dogs and oral sex reminded me of a fun fact... In the Kinsey reports (1948–1953) from the U.S., about 8 % of males and 3.6 % of females surveyed reported having had at least one sexual interaction with an animal at some point in their lives. Anyway, moving swiftly on... After asking various guys where they got their technique from, turns out the problem with men and oral sex is that they all received advice from the Internet. Of course, you should gain credit for at least having done some research but there needs to be a caveat added to the standard advice. Yes, you must maintain a constant level of lubrication because you cannot perform oral on a dry clitoris but you must be careful not to produce too much. While "too dry" is physically painful, "too wet" is often numbing and distracting. There are two main reasons... The "Hydroplaning" Effect: If there is a layer of fluid that is too thick between the tongue and the nerve endings, the tongue essentially floats. You lose the texture. The sensation changes from a specific, rhythmic pressure to a vague, slippery wash. Friction is actually required to trigger the nerves; lubrication is just there to prevent the friction from chafing. Thermal Decay: Saliva cools down very quickly once it leaves the mouth. If you create a "puddle," that puddle becomes room temperature within seconds. A cold pool of liquid in a sensitive area is a major buzz kill. To conclude... don't be a golden retriever... be a Chihuahua. Nice little delicate consistent strokes with just the right amount of lubrication

The real first world war: Sparta versus Athens 81PKXDN4meL. AC SL1500BOOKS

The real first world war: Sparta versus Athens

Wouldn't it be fascinating to talk to someone for hours and hours who lived thousands of years ago? I guess that's why I chose this book. I'm desperate for a different voice... somebody, anybody, a person from a totally different time. You see, there comes a point when you have to stop reading 'dummies guide to', and summaries and actually make contact with one of those persons through the original text. Thucydides is the perfect candidate. Right from the beginning - and his discussions of earlier even more ancient history - I found this voice compelling and disarming... i.e. I got exactly what I was looking for. I can't guarantee you will like this the way I could guarantee Bleak House but if you like history and want something different this work is well worth your time because you will really feel you are listening to a genuinely alien, ancient voice.

The man I never knew was missing from my life Bleak houseBOOKS

The man I never knew was missing from my life

I challenge anyone to find a good reading space (preferably a warm, snug room while it's raining outside) then read the first chapter of this book and (here comes The challenge) not immediately recognize you're in the company of a genius. I'm being serious, I read this first chapter not having read anything by Dickens... and I was like "where has this guy been my whole life 😂". To make the fog a character, to take you on a tour of that dementedly dark and wonderful Victorian London, to lampoon and capture the irrationality and absurdity of the legal system, to introduce the themes the characters so f****** quickly is just mind blowing. So, I've set the challenge... tell me how you got on.

What is The Mazari Collective & Mazari Clinic? Mazari collectiveINSTRUCTION

What is The Mazari Collective & Mazari Clinic?

What is the Mazari Collective? This is just a brief note to explain to clients and followers a new development in the services  I offer and the way I offer them. From now on, November 5, all of my calls will first be processed by the secretary at Mazari collective, who will also be responsible for screening. Do not be alarmed by the sudden appearance of this organization. It is nothing threatening or particularly interesting, but simply a cooperative of 5 Barcelona based sex workers who share similar clientele and lifestyles. It is really a way of ensuring that we have much better safety and security. A lone sex worker -  even a Kung Fu fighting-hard as nails one like myself - is extremely vulnerable in a number of different ways. By having a central organization desk we always have someone to monitor our safety, we have access to legal help and administrative help and as you can imagine it's very beneficial in many ways. Any of you that know me, know that I work on very strict principles of integrity and confidentiality, and the members of our cooperative are exactly the same, and you do not have to worry in any way.   What is the Mazari Clinic? Extending further the idea of cooperation, our ultimate dream at Mazari collective is to have our own premises which would again increase security and be an absolute boon for both us and our clients. We will work together to create a super dungeon. Mazari clinic is a long term project that will probably take about 18 months. It will allow us to set up our own physical dungeon with our own facilities and services without being dependent on anybody else. It will primarily specialize in medical BDSM but will also offer more traditional services as you may have read read and understood them in the Sissy Farm. added note - January 20th 2026 The Mazari Clinic will open April 2nd added note - May 1st 20th 2026 - link for The Mazari Clinic
