Wouldn’t it be fascinating to talk to someone for hours and hours who lived thousands of years ago? I guess that’s why I chose this book this month. I’m desperate for a different voice, somebody, anybody, someone from a totally different time. And becomes a time when you have to stop reading dummies guide, and professor summaries and just actually make contact with one of those voices through the original text. Thucydides not only supplies that voice, but is extremely readable.
